In 2014-2015, OK GO commissioned me to create six music videos for their summer and spring tour. I collaborated closely with Mary Fagot, OK Go's Creative Director, who provided me with six visual references as a starting point. From there, I was given creative freedom to explore within the Rezanator Framework, a custom openFrameworks application and software studio I built, to develop and sequence generative systems inspired by a variety of visual themes, including OP Art, optical illusions, visual music, hyper-sensory immersive media, and synesthesia.

OK Go's stage setup featured two large rear projection screens arranged in a V-formation behind the band, creating a dynamic visual backdrop that immersed the audience. I created a simulator for myself so I could see how the visuals would look on stage (see Image above).

Each music video was composed using generative systems that manipulated geometric forms, vibrant color palettes, and rhythmic patterns to create a high-energy visual language. The content ranged from mesmerizing kaleidoscopic patterns and intricate grids to pulsating shapes and shifting optical illusions—all carefully choreographed to sync with the band's music. The visuals aimed to heighten the sensory experience for the audience, blurring the line between sound and image, and creating a truly synesthetic performance.
